My name is Melissa and I received my career diploma in Pet Grooming through the PennFoster Career School after taking classes over the course of the 2006. I was certified as a Pet Groomer in May of '07 and have been actively grooming since August '07.
My current "dog related" experience consists of the following: 4 years of dog daycare, 4 years of boarding & kennel, 1 year of independent grooming.
I have always been an avid animal lover... When I was little, I used to capture bugs, butterflies, tadpoles, salamanders and anything else I could find to study them and observe their behaviors. I remember once telling my mom that when I grew up, I "wanted to be a lion." I think my parents very quickly figured out that animals of all kinds were not just "one of those phases" I was going through- this was going to be an intimate, lifelong devotion.
Working with animals of any species is an opportunity to connect to another being who understands you more deeply than any one person ever could. They don't need the use of words to bring a smile to your face when you need it most. They know when you are having a bad day and know exactly how to cheer you up and make you feel completely whole again.
I am extremely passionate when it comes to my personal work... grooming is a chance for me to combine my artistic skill with my love for dogs. I am not in this business to make money- I am here to share my talents and my abilities with you as fellow dog owners, and I am willing to do it for less than others because of how much I truly and whole-heartedly enjoy it.
Try us out and let me know what you think. I hold my clients opinions very dearly and promise to put in 110% effort, each and every time your dog comes for a visit. I look forward to meeting the both of you in the near future.
Take care and best wishes,
